Some pretty big news came out of Breakthrough Party HQ today…
This morning we launched our campaign in the Chesham and Amersham by-election, our electoral debut, which is due to take place on Thursday, 17th June.
The response has been overwhelming, with people from inside the constituency and across the UK coming forward to express their support and donate to the campaign.
We have an outstanding candidate, Carla Gregory, a local mum who has lived her whole life in the constituency, and understands the real needs of the area. Our campaign will focus on issues that other mainstream parties tend to ignore: poverty, debt, the housing crisis and the fight for social justice.
We know that there is space in UK politics for a genuinely radical political alternative, and this is the first step in our fight to build a society that gives hope to young people and marginalised groups. The UK is a wealthy country: people should not be left homeless, or be forced to rely on food banks to support themselves and their families. These are the issues that we will be raising in our campaign in Chesham & Amersham, and we hope we can count on your support.
